Handleless kitchens have been popular for the last decade and the desire for that modern, sleek look shows no signs of slowing. It could be accused of creating quite a clinical look but the new colours and textures that are coming through negate that worry. Worktops need to be uncluttered to give the best visual effect and with all the latest internal storage innovations available, this is easy to achieve. The outcome is a stylish room with clean lines giving a sense of calm.
At the other end of the spectrum, a shaker style has always been a popular choice and classed as a traditional kitchen but the new designs are by no means old fashioned. There are more options with texture so whilst the grain of the wood showing on the hand painted doors is desirable for many, you can have a completely smooth finish or even a gloss! Go for a thin worktop and you'll be bang up to date!
In terms of colour, it's a purely personal choice. The colourways are easy.....you can't go wrong with this years' muted palette, greys are popular but the tones are softer than before. Ivory and white are still in the mix as are the neutral mossy greens but moving forward bolder colours like Denim Blue are gaining momentum in popularity. Wood is also having a resurgence but with more of a driftwood effect.
Accessorise with copper finishes to tie in with the industrial look that is also coming to the forefront. Handles and light fittings are simple ways to add that flash of copper.
